🌸 The Beauty of Different Loves

When the three of us first said yes to this journey, we didn’t fully know what we were stepping into. There isn’t a handbook for how to navigate a three-person relationship. There aren’t many role models to look to. But what we did have is curiosity, courage, and a deep desire to live honestly.

And somewhere along the way, we discovered some very profound things:

💫 Love doesn’t only fit one shape.

💫 Family isn’t measured by tradition, but by intention.

💫 Belonging is born when hearts choose each other, over and over again.

Being in a throuple has stretched us in ways we never imagined.

We each bring our own story:

  • Trent brings steadiness and strength, a grounding presence that reminds us we are safe even when the world feels uncertain.

  • Nita brings fierce tenderness, a nurturing love that touches places in us that have long gone unseen.

  • Kami brings fire and freedom, the spark that keeps us daring to expand, to risk, to keep saying yes to life in all its messy, beautiful fullness.

Together, those differences don’t compete—they complete.

They create a mosaic that is richer and more vibrant because of the contrast.

A love that holds many textures.

A home that echoes with laughter, conversation, passion, and the kind of quiet presence that doesn’t need to be explained.

We have learned that love isn’t about possession, but permission—the permission to be fully ourselves while being deeply connected.

To bring our strengths and our weaknesses.

To show up not only in our polished parts but also in our messy, raw, vulnerable ones.

To cry, to celebrate, to rebuild.

To keep choosing honesty even when it feels costly.

There are nights when our talks stretch into the early morning hours,

unearthing layers of who we are and what we dream of becoming.

There are afternoons when laughter fills the air so fully that even the hardest days feel lighter.

There are ordinary, holy moments when we brush shoulders in the kitchen, exchange a glance across the room, or sit together in silence, knowing that belonging doesn’t always need words.

And yes—there are challenges.

Love that grows in new directions always comes with tension, with lessons that stretch us, with mirrors that reveal parts of ourselves we might otherwise avoid.

But we are discovering that those very challenges are not threats—they are teachers.

They remind us that love worth having is love worth working for.

The beauty of different loves is this:

✨ Each love shows us something no other could.

✨ Each connection reveals a piece of who we are.

✨ Each story is sacred, not because it looks perfect, but because it is real.

The outside world may never fully understand.

And maybe that’s the point.

This love isn’t meant to be explained—it is meant to be lived.

To be honored in the daily moments.

To be celebrated for the growth it invites, the joy it sparks, and the healing it makes possible.

🌿 Love that expands is love worth celebrating. 🌿

💭 Reflection Questions for Readers:

  • Where in my life am I being invited to see love in a new way?

  • How can I give myself permission to honor the different shapes love takes, rather than measure them against a single standard?

  • Who are the people that bring grounding, tenderness, or fire into my life—and how can I cherish the unique gift of each one?

🌟 Truth Statement:Love is not defined by labels, expectations, or the boxes the world tries to force it into. Love is defined by courage, honesty, and the daily choice to honor the beauty of difference.

💫 Here’s to love that expands, family that we choose, and stories that refuse to be small.
